  • Thats actually a very interesting question honey! Lets travel back in time to find out ;)
  • Hey mom, whats a empire?
  • The Roman Empire was very strong! They took many hits but still ended up standing and lasted for over a 1000 years!
  • An example is The Numantians.
  • Numantians wanted freedom but the Roman empire noticed they were out of their control. They didn't like this.
  • In 134 BC, The Romans were in need of help. They sent Scipio Aemlianes, a Roman general
  • I think instead of using my 30,000 soldiers, we should instead just lock up and starve the Numantians. I'm gonna do it for a year or so, until they can't do it anymore. They all killed themselves instead of giving in.
  • The romans carried cultural diversity which made them such a strong empire. When they conquered the Numantians, it wasn't all that defined them.
  • So only after conquering and capturing these places, they were Romans.
  • SOOOO BASICALLY, An empire is a political It rules over a significant number of people, each with different cultural identity and separate territory. Empires also have flexible borders and a unlimited appetite where they can eat more and more nations/ territories w/o changing its basic structure or identity.
  • YUP! EXACTLY!
