- In 563 BC, Siddhartha Gautama was born in a palace. His father met a fortune teller and he told him that Siddhartha would either become a great king or a religious leader. His father wanted him to become a great king.
- Siddhartha grew up in a life of luxury. His guards always watched him. He went on Chariot rides, but the guards went with him as well. His made the guards clear the street from the poor and sick people.
- Siddhartha decided to go on a Chariot ride without his guards. Then he sees the four passing sights. A old man, a sick man, a corpse and the holy man.
- Siddhartha saw the holy man happy with nothing and decided to run away from home to become a ascetic. One night, he escaped and traded in his luxurious robes for a yellow one and joined a group of ascetic for 5 years.
- After five years, Siddhartha deprived himself of so much that his body needed, he passed out. When he woke up, a milk maid offered him food and water, so he took it. Then ascetics left him and he realised that it wasn't the right path for him.
- One Siddhartha realised that self-denial is not the right path. He meditated under a Bodhi Tree and reached enlightenment. After he did, he became a Buddha. He went around India for 49 years to help other people reach enlightenment as well.
