- Odysseus and some of his men climbed off of their boat and started walking toward the cave. The book writes, "The rest of you stand by; I'll make the crossing in my own ship."
- Once they make it to the cave Odysseus and his men treat themselves to water and cheese. The book says, "And took some cheese to eat."
- They meet the cyclopes who is inraged by seeing them with his food. Odysseus says that since they are guests they helped themselves. The book says, " We felt pressure on our hearts, in dread of that deep rumble."
- Odysseus gives the cyclopes a bottle of very strong wine. The cyclopes loved the wine and asked for more. Odysseus lies and tells him that his name is, "nohbdy."
- Odysseus and his men stab the cyclops's eye. The cyclopes goes crazy and call for help. He says, "Nohbdy has stabbed me in the eye." Then they escape underneath the sheep because he thought that his sheep had to go outside.
- Odysseus and his men escape on their boat. But before leaving he yells out, "Odysseus raider of city took your eye." The cyclopes reveal that a prophet told him a man named Odysseus would stab his eye. Then the cyclopes put a curse on Odysseus's voyage.
