  • Ughhhhh
  • QUALITY OF LIFE MICRO ISSUE :WHAT ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?
  • After a week of learning a little more about different agencies and people we can reach out to for our projects, it is time to start thinking about what you want your topic to be
  • This is Quality of life?
  • Do you have any ideas?
  • I don't know maybe bike lanes
  • Lets work together!!!
  • QUALITY OF LIFE BACKGROUND RESEARCH: ANNOTETED BIBLIOGRAPHIES
  • In order to be successful in this class you will have to do background research. I will assign annotated Bibliographies to help you take notes on each of your resources.
  • Last Volleyball Game
  • What are we going to do we haven't even decided on a topic yet!_______________________________________Sounds good!
  • Did you hear how many annotated bibliographies we have to do!!! That's so much work. _______________________________________Let's just do the bike network because we at least have some sort of experience with that topic.
  • Picking out a Micro Quality of life issue was a struggle. We felt like we had so many ideas yet none were good enough to write a paper about. In doing our assignment we came up with expanding the Bike Network (because of my prior experience) or The issue with pet owners not picking up after their dogs (an issue that Katrina saw in her neighborhood)
  • Getting to work...
  • Mr. Rader explained what annotated bibliographies were and how we would use them as a note catcher for ensuring the source was credible, a summary of the text, and how it links to one of the questions we will need to answer in the paper.
  • Survey Questions1.2.3.4.5.
  • I'm here if anyone needs help or has questions
  • Are these questions good?
  • We were stressing out because we couldn't think of a better topic and the overview of the project was intimidating. However, we went with the Bike Network the disparities that we saw in the community health profile.
  • Setting up our Google Spread Sheet
  • It's okay we got this. Let's do some people that work at the RPA
  • The marking period is about to end and we didn't reach out to experts. Who do we even reach out to
  • Throughout the course of a month and a half my partner, Katrina, and I completed annotated bibliographies and slowly wrote our four-page paper on the issues with Bike network distribution. Though we did miss a couple of assignments, having a partner made it easier to go through this process because we kept each other motivated and pulled eachother up.
  • Eventually, we narrowed down our topic to Bike Lane distribution and created a survey based on the field research question "Do residents of Brooklyn support the expansion of Bike Lanes". We found that this Knowledge Gap would make our paper better because we would have feedback from our community. We were unsure if people know much about Bike Lanes or even care for expanding this resource in their area
  • K:Ask him to look it overI: No you ask himK: No you do it
  • Yes. I feel like it will answer our field question
  • Once our survey was done and refined Mr. RADER taught us how to use a google spreadsheet and put our survey questions onto one. We fell a bit behind with outreach to experts we emailed a few and luckily Dr. Rachel Weinberger got back to us.
