- Yassas! I am one of the peoplewho believed that the earth is flat.
- Yassas Keerios! Nice to meet you. I'd would really like to understand your opinion for believing the earth is flat.
- The Earth is flat. As in completely flat, as if it were a sheet of glass. The term "flat" refers to a surface that is completely flat, with no elevated spots or indentations.
- Really? Would you mind giving me a specific evidences why it's flat?
- Okay, why are all of the world's buildings standing straight up? If the earth were round, many of the structures would be tilted.
- How come the sunrays beam straight down if the earth is a spinning globe and the sun is approximately 150 million light years away?
- I get your point, but do you mind if I share my thoughts on why the earth is round?
- Sure.
- Triangles. If you walk 10,000 kilometers straight along the earth's surface, turn 90 degrees to your right, walk 10,000 kilometers more, turn right again and walk another 10,000 kilometers, you'll be back to where you started, having successfully made a triangle with three 90 degree angles. As any geometry student can tell you, this is impossible on a flat surface.
