- In chapter 13, the band members are asking Bud all sorts of questions because Bud said that Herman E. Calloway was his dad and the band members or Herman did not believe this.
- In chapter 14, The band members take Bud to a restaurant to explain everything and that is when Bud meets miss Thomas when Steady Eddie was making jokes Bud could not stop laughing the out of now where Bud starts crying and can't stop
- In chapter 15, Miss Thomas takes Bud to the Grand Calloway Station and gives him a place to sleep Bud is worried that who ever room this was they were gonna get mad that he was there but miss Thomas told Bud not to worry because the little girl has passed away.
