- Winters in the Midwest are long and very cold. Blizzards are common and often bring heavy snow and high winds.
- Because there is no ocean nearby to cool the land, Midwest summers are very hot.
- Tornadoes are frequent occurrences during the spring and summer in the Midwest. Part of the Midwest is called "Tornado Valley" because there are so many!
