- September 4th, 1941
- Simone's mother, Emma Arnold, is talking to Jehovah's Witnesses for the first time. She accepts bible literature and it very excited about what she learns. Eventually, the whole family becomes Witnesses.
- July 8, 1943
- Jehovah's Witnesses are banned in France, so the Arnolds and other Witnesses meet in a garden house to have their bible discussions secretly.
- September 1943
- Simone's father, Adolphe, is arrested by the Gestapo at his workplace for being a Witness. Then the officers interrogate Emma in her home. Simone watches around the corner.
- June 1945
- Simone is taken to Wessenberg's Reformatory for Girls. She is forced to do hard physical tasks, rarely allowed to talk, and severely disciplined. Still, she found comfort in remembering bible passages.
- Emma Arnold was arrested and taken to a concentration camp. She was in solitary confinement and neglected. However, she determinedly never abandons her faith and was able to smuggle a bible in.
- Simone, Emma, and Adolphe Arnold are reunited after the war ends and all are released from their Nazi camps. However, it takes time for them to heal from their mistreatment. Still, they stayed faithful to Jehovah God.
