- One fine morning,Bathala decided to called his dearest daughter Mayari and son Apolaki.
- As a father of both of you,I want to see that you love and care for each other no matter what happens.
- We shall keep your word,our father.
- So now!I am the one will rule the Earth!
- Another day,Bathala died without leaving a will and Mayari fought with her brother Apolaki for the right to rule the Earth.
- No you aren't!I am the one will rule the Earth!
- The two siblings fought to each other with their full force and ability.During the fight,Apolaki accidentally hit Mayari in the face with a bamboo club,causing her to loss one of her eyes.

- Apolaki asked for forgiveness and agreed that they should rule together,so they decided that Apolaki was during the day while Mayari was at night.However,Mayari light is dimmer than Apolaki due to the loss of her eye.

- Mayari– The goddess of the moon and she was the most charming of all the goddesses.
