Our sun was once a large cloud of gas and dust spread out in space. This is called a nebula.
After the nebula stage, there is a small star from the intense gravity, a protostar.
After billions of years the protostar has gained its size and if its a low-medium mass star it will be called a main sequence star. Our sun is a main sequence star and has an approximate lifespan for 10 billion years.
A Planetary Nebula is a cloud of dust and gas. The difference between a high and low main sequence star is that the high main sequence star has a much bigger mass and lives a shorter lifespan than a low main sequence star.
Eventually, The sun will enter the planetary nebula stage when it uses up all its fuel. But before it enters that stage, it turns into a red giant. Then when it becomes that stage of the stars life, a planetary nebula will occur. Which means everything in the stars solar system will be burned to death. But fortunately thats when this current generation is dead. so don't worry!
After the planetary nebula, A white dwarf is left behind. A white dwarf is the blueish-white core that was left behind from the star. Luckily because our sun is a main sequence star, We most likely won't experience a black hole or a neutron star.
A Black Dwarf is when the white dwarf completely cooled and no longer produces light.
What's a Neutron star and a black hole?
Let me check. Hey, google what's a neutron star and a black hole?
woahhh....
If the nebula turns into a high-mass star then the path for a high-mass star may lead to a supergiant.
After thousands of years, eventually the star will blow up and this stage is called a supernova. The supernova can lead to a neutron star or a black hole.
DONT GET TOO CLOSE! The neutron's gravity can crush you! A neutron star is the core of the supergiant.
AHHH!!!!!
DONT GET TOO CLOSE TO THIS TOO! A black hole has an intense gravitational pull that light can't even resist!
I'm soo tired... Space is a pretty cool place!
That was crazy.
Omg! Ms.Yerxa you wouldn't believe what happened last night!
