Storyboard Tekst

  • What'stexture,Mom?
  • Be careful kids, the pineapple's texture is very prickly and could stick you.
  • Yeah, I'venever heardthat word before.
  • Like the pineapple is rough....
  • Texture is a property that you can use to describe something. You can touch something to feel it's texture. You can also look at something to learn about it's texture. It might look or feel smooth, rough, bumpy, or fuzzy. It might feel hard or soft.
  • .... and my shirt is soft.
  • Exactly, Erik!
  • I know this one! Absorbent is how well it soaks up liquid!
  • Here is another one. How about absorbent?
  • Good, Josey!
  • Let's see. A paper towel would be absorbent and um...... my raincoat would not be absorbent!
  • Okay, Erik, it's your turn. Can you name something that is absorbent and something that is not absorbent?
  • Correct, Erik!Since you two are so smart, how about flexibility?
  • That's an easy one. Flexibility is how easy something bends without breaking. Rigid objects are not flexible and will break if you try to bend them. We learned about flexible at school.
  • Yes, rubber bands and paper are flexible. Glass and mirrors are rigid and will break if you try to bend them.
  • Sure, I'll get the rigid knife. Erik, you can get the absorbent paper towels. HA HA!
  • How about if you two go wash up and help me get the pineapple ready for the fruit salad?
  • Those two area mess!
