There are some things every kid loves - swinging on swings...
Playing with dinosaurs...
Building train tracks...
Dreaming about the stars and exploring outer space...
So why do adults divide them into "Girl" things and "Boy" things when they are really just kid things?
GIRL
BOY
We tell our daughters they can like anything and be anything they want, but the images they see do not reflect that.
When XXX was 4, she wanted to be an astronaut for Halloween...until a catalogue of kid costumes came in the mail.

She announced, “I can’t be an astronaut. That costume is for boys.”
We showed my daughter photos of female astronauts--and she made a fantastic astronaut at Halloween.
A couple months later, my 2 year old daughter wanted train underpants...
...but what she wanted could only be found in the boy section.

Budding Stem is ready to change that -- by putting the things our girls love onto clothes they’ll love to wear. Our daughters inspired us to inspire them and other girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math--and other things typically marketed to boys.
We started Budding Stem last spring. We’ve designed our own prints celebrating outer space, dinosaurs, trains and other things countless girls love. We have a production team in Seattle and Los Angeles, and with your help, we can start inspiring young girls immediately.
We know too many moms and dads who are so ready for these types of choices. If you’re a mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend of a young girl -- you know.
And this isn’t just a business for us. We’re here to push the entire children’s market -- clothes and toys -- to better reflect ALL the things girls love.
We’re asking for your help - thru Kickstarter - to bring these initial design to market. Let’s start changing the world, one young girl at a time.
I want to be an astronaut!
I like trains!
Need to decide if we want to end on previous shot, or if we want one more scene of girls in clothes with some narration by 7-year-old to loop back to beginning.
