Romulus founded Rome with some friends, naming the kingdom after himself. He created a good government and started to rule. Soon, a problem arose. Not many of the settlers were women, and therefore, there weren't children to continue the kingdom. So, Romulus tried to get women to join. Nobody was willing hand over their girls, so he hosted an event and stole all of the women who went to that event.

The groups whose women were stolen were, obviously, not very happy about this. They tried, many times, to get their women back, but they always failed. One time, though, after the women had started to get used to life in Rome, the Sabines, who had the greatest number of women stolen, attacked. It was a bloody battle. The women, who were now wives of Romans, begged their fathers and husbands to stop fighting. They agreed, but Romulus said that they would only stop if the women would become members of the Roman state. The women complied, and the fighting ended.

The prettiest of them all shall be MY wife....

STOP!!!!

Romulus's wife (a.k.a the 'prettiest one of them all')

So, all was well in Rome. Although Romulus was cruel by the way he stole the women, he was a great leader. He helped Rome through their struggles and made sure to befriend the neighboring kingdoms, as well as earn some of their land. Everything was normal, until one day, when Romulus was with his advisors. They say that a thunderstorm came in, and when it dispersed, Romulus was gone. Some think he was killed after being swept up by the winds. Others say that the gods in heaven had made HIM a god. Whatever fate he endured, he was never seen again.
