- Hey! Shield-bearing soldiers Grendel is attacking now at the mead-hall.
- Grendel one night arrives at Herot and relished in the mead-hall killing 30 of King Hrothgar men. leaving him in grief and misery for 12 winters.

- Beowulf's Arrival
- Oh! Brave man, I envy your bravery. Should there be anything you desire in exchange for this brave act?
- King Hrothgar
- Upon Beowulf's arrival, King Hrothgar welcomes Beowulf soon after Beowulf is headed to fight Grendal and put him to rest. Beowulf makes a request to the KIng as an exchange for his bravery-being alone with the help of his men, should purge all evil and fame after death

- Barehanded and merciless, Beowulf fights and rips off Grendel's arm- who flees and later dies in his lonely cave, Beowulf later hangs Grendel's arm in the hall of Herot.

- Soon after the battle of Beowulf and Grendal the monster heads back to his lair to lay to death.

- Beowulf v. Grendel’s Mother
- Grendel's Mother
- In order to seek revenge, Grendel's mother attacks Herot and retrieves Grendel's arm- which was held as a trophy by Beowulf- and flees to an underwater cave. Beowulf follows her and soon kills her by using a magic sword blessed by giants, which is able to defeat her.
