- A biofuel is any fuel derived from bio mass. Both biofuels and regular fuels produce CO2 emissions and greenhouse gases, however there are no net carbon emissions fo biofuel since the crops take in the CO2 released while growing.
- Biofuels are starting to become viable options as CO2 emissions increase. All commercial biofuels produced in the US are produced from biocrops, like corn soybeans and sugarcane
- It is not feasible to immediately stop extracting and using fossil fuels. Alternative, renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, eliminate the pollution that accompanies fossil fuel energy. Alternative energy also reduces the reliance on limited fossil fuels. Consider installing solar panels in your home to reduce the amount of fossil fuel needed to power your home.
- Normal fuel is made from carbon which has been trapped underground for millions of years
