- The opening takes place in district 12, a very woody forest area with Katniss and Gale hunting in the woods together to get food for their household. They sell game to the black market for money to spend on food.
- Climax
- Katniss and Peeta are chosen to be in the 74th annual Hunger Games. This is taken place at the Hall of Justice. This will be the beginning of an event that will change their lives.
- Falling Action
- Katniss is in the games and now has to learn how to survive in the games. Katniss wanders aimlessly in the woods in the arena of the Hunger Games where multiple people are out to kill her.
- Resolution
- Katniss and Peeta are fighting Cato and the hounds to try to win the Hunger Games. The capitol released hounds of the other players in the game to help kill the players of the games as Peeta and Katniss have one other person to kill.
- Katniss and Peeta threaten to eat a poisonous berry to defy the government for the games. They think if they eat the berries the Capitol will be scared about an uprising within the districts so they will let them win.
- Katniss and Peeta win the Hunger Games and get sent home. The Capitol sees their act of rebellion against them and now will never leave them alone again.
