- Hi! Thanks so much for having me during Carver's Black History Month.
- Hi Ayana! Thanks for talking to us today about your film.
- How did you come up with the concept?
- We were reading Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, and even though it wasn't my favorite book, I was inspired by it.
- Some parts of the book, like the aspects of Christianity, really stood out to me.
- It was a great experience working with my friends and so many other amazing people to get this done. I had to really be a leader in order to make sure everything happened, but it definitely became a passion project for me.
- I want viewers to see the representations of the divine feminine...especially since so many Black women are in the cast.
- My film also touches on a lot of layers the Black community struggles with. Identity, religion - you can take a piece or a lot of it.
- You should be so proud of your work! I can't wait for everyone to see it!
