- Reading the Gina' story goes to show how important it is to never lose hope despite the odds suggested by science.
- It was sad to see how doctor's felt as though it was best for Gina's parents to look for an institution rather than taking her home. However, Gina's parents knew there was no better place to take care of Gina than home. This goes that parents will never hesitate to fight for their child besides professionals suggestions.
- It was inspiring to see how Gina's parents continuously fought and advocated for their daughter. Having a child was a completely new experience especially with a rare diseases such as SLOS. However, it did not prevent them from loving Gina any less.
- Gina's mom mentioned that there where times she thought of "what if's" such as what if Gina had been born like her nieces and nephews, how different would her life be..
- However, reading Gina's story I thought, what if Gina's parents would have listened to the medical professionals. Gina's life would have been extremely different. Gina's story would not have been shared with the same outcomes we see today, it could be possible that Gina's story would have not been shared at all..
