- Akbar found a way. He believed that if he wants to gain his empire respect, he should treat them all fairly. So, he decides to get rid of the policy that states all non-Muslims should pay taxes.
- Everyone was happy and glad about the news. Akbar starts to gain respect from the non-Muslims. But one thing didn't feel right, he realizes that his people, not only had to pay taxes but couldn't practice their own religion. Akbar knew something had to change.
- All non-Muslims no longer have to pay taxes!
- There is a new declaration! To let everyone, Muslim and non-Muslims to be able to practice any religion they choose.
- Akbar passes a declaration stating that everyone, Muslim or non-Muslims is able to practice their own religion! Everyone was very pleased and started to praise Akbar even more.
- Akbar feels great about the decisions he made. He brought peace and order to his empire just as he wished and gain respect from his people. Akbar over time gained his name Akbar the Great due to many of his accomplishments. In the end, he received what he wanted the most, equality.
