- Finch sneaks' violet from her house and drives her to their next wandering... they drive to the 'Blue Hole', a place which finch reveres and visits frequently. Violet is confused as this place is not part of the list of places they were assigned and visit, Finch is eager to show violet the place he is always mesmerized by.
- I have another place for our wandering! a place I think of fondly..
- Where are we going Finch!? Slow down would you!?

- Come back here Violet Markey! off with that boy again!?
- Finch and Violet finally arrive at the Blue hole, a place which is believed to be bottomless or covered with quicksand, Finch has always tried to reach the bottom, swimming deeper and deeper with each visit. Finch thinks of the blue hole as tranquil and serene; he believes swimming is his kind of superpower, blocking out the outside world.

- Finch dives into the blue hole to try and reach it's seemingly non-existent bottom, Violet dives in after finch in an attempt to catch up with him. Violet is scared that she will lose finch just like she has lost her sister, Eleanor.
