- It is 1942 and Hitler is trying to rid the world of Jewish people. He made it illegal for them to leave so they are stuck in German occupied Holland. Anne writes in her diary to her "friend" Kitty.
- Climax
- Anne and her family must go into hiding because Margot has been served papers by the SS and is to be sent away to a concentration camp.
- Falling Action
- Anne's family, the Van Daan Family, and Mr. Dussel are in hiding. If they are caught they will be sent to a concentration camp where they will most likely die. There isn't much food to eat and they must stay very quiet for fear of being found.
- Resolution
- Police come to search the annex to investigate a burglary. They begin searching the building and almost find everyone upstairs. They are all scared they will be found.
- Anne and the others are found and taken to concentration camps where they all die, with the exception of Anne's father, Otto Frank.
- Anne's father returns to the Annex and is given Anne's diary. Otto publishes Anne's Diary and her wish to live forever comes true.
