- Gatsby introduces guests to the party and into his amazing home.
- Nick spots Gatsby staring at a mysterious green light. Nick stands puzzled but ultimately decides not to startle Gatsby as he seems to be in some sort of trance.

- Nick is genuinely shocked about the valley of ashes. He wonders how Tom is completely fine coming here and watching people live like this while he is living in a nice area with his wife. It is clear with a go fund and a little bit of money that the people of the valley and their life can be improved
- Welcome to the valley of ashes
- How do you sleep at night knowing people live like this?
- Tom!!!
- After arriving at a house party Myrtle and Tom get into a verbal altercation in which ends in Tom striking Myrtyle breaking her nose and everyone leaving
- Stop!
