- Meet Zeus! He is one of the last Amur Leopards in the world! Amur Leopards are an endangered species that have only a few 100 left and this is because of the major changes to his environment, which include: habitat degradation (deforestation), poaching and prey depletion, inbreeding and disease, and competitive interactions with other animals such as tigers! This is all under Climate change! Now the biome/habitat which the Amur Leopard lives in, is mixed Korean pine and deciduous forest. The countries which they are usually between are on the border areas of Russian Far East, and north-east China, possibly North Korea.
- While Zeus was eating away, he heard a random sound. It sounded like a tree being chopped down! Zeus jumped to his feet and started running through the cold forest. As he was an approaching, he saw a group of humans with axes, chopping down trees! Zeus was confused at first, but then out of nowhere one of the humans took a big swing and then “chop, chop, chop!!!” The tree base started to get thinner and thinner until “bash!!!” The tree fell over with a loud “crash!!!”
- At first Zeus ignored to humans cutting down the trees, but then later he found it difficult to breath in the area with no trees. So, he walked around until he felt better, so he went to where a lot of trees were. Then he saw the places that used be filled with trees are starting to disappear, he gets curious and walks to the areas with no trees. He hears a very fain voice, “help, help.” He saw a mother and few cubs lying on the floor nearly dead, he takes them to his home and asked them what happened. They mother said that they felt uneasy and they felt short of breath, then Zeus started thinking. But he didn't get it.
