- NOW THE LORD SAID TO ABRAM
- ''Go from your country and your kindred and your fathers house to the land that i will show you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing, I will bless those who bless you and the ones who curse you i will cursed and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed''
- So Abram moved his tent, and came and settled by the oaks[b] of Mamre, which are at Hebron; and there he built an altar to the Lord.
- Now the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him
- “Raise your eyes now, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; 15 for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring[a] forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth; so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. 17 Rise up, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”

- ''Know this for certain, that your offspring shall be aliens in a land that is not theirs, and shall be slaves there, and they shall be oppressed for four hundred years; but I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve''
- When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him...
- ''No longer shall your name be Abram,but your name shall be Abraham for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nationsas for me, this is my covenant with you shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. ''
- “I am God Almighty;walk before me, and be blameless. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous.”
- Abram fell to his face with shock as jesus told him .....
- AND THE LORD SAID
- “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, 18 seeing that Abraham shall become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?[a] 19 No, for I have chosen[b] him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the lord by doing righteousness and justice; so that the lord may bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
- The angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, and Said....
- “By myself I have sworn, says the lord Because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will indeed bless you, and I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of their enemies, and by your offspring shall all the nations of the earth gain blessing for themselves, because you have obeyed my voice.”
