- Abigail, Tituba, Ruth, Mercy Lewis, Mary Warren and Betty were trying to do witchcraft in the forest. They danced, drunk chicken blood and tried to summon the devil so to kill Elizabeth Procter so that Abigail could be with John Procter. Rev. Parris saw them.

- Betty has been inert in her bed for a long time. Rev. Parris and Abigail are arguing about what Abigail and her friends were doing in the forest at night. Abigail says they were only dancing and having fun for one, but Rev. Parris suspects they were doing witchcraft.

- Mr Putnam and Mrs Putnam enter the room, their daughter is also sick and doesn’t want to eat. They are saying that it is witchcraft but Parris denies it. Mr Putnam says someone saw Betty running around flapping her arms trying to fly. Rebecca Nurse enters the room to see how Betty was. She says to pray for her to wake.

- Rev. Hale arrives and starts investigating. He asks Abigail what happened and Abigail blamed Titubea for bewitching Betty. They bring Tituba in to interview her. She starts by denying she did witchcraft, but she realised that it would be easier for her to say se he did do witchcraft. It was the only way they wouldn’t kill her. She says some names to put the blame on someone else.
- John Procter and Abigail are in the room alone. Abigail is angry with John because she had an affair with him but then he went with Elizabeth. They argue about if John thinks about Abigail sometimes.
- Abigail tells Betty to wake up and threatens all the girls that were at the forest that if they said anything about what they did, she would kill them while they were sleeping.
