- setting: at a huge carnival in Italy Fortunado, a famous wine taster with a big ego. Montresser has a vault like basement with hundreds of of differnet, nut he has one particular one he wants Fortunado to try to come too
- Climax
- Montresser invites Fortunado down to taste the Amontillado but is secret planning revenge on fortunado for insulting him
- Falling action
- Montresser keeps feeding him him drunk long enough to get him back of the catacombs
- Resolution
- "In Pace Requiescat"
- when they are deep in the catacombs, Montresor chains fortunado to a wall inside the small alcove and begins sealing it off with a wall of braids
- as montresor was building the wall he threw the torch that he had in there with fortunado and then he kept on going, fortunado tries to kind of reason with montesor by saying " oh we'll laugh about this later at the carnival."
- montresor hesitates to put the ;ast brick in place but he does it anyway. as he walks away from the wall he yell frotunado three times before saying " in pace requiescat"
