- Later that day Timmy's mom asked him if he knows what a therapist is. She was surprised by how little Timmy knew.
- Thats mean Timmy. And not true.
- Have you ever heard of a therapist?
- Only weird and crazy people have a therapist.
- Timmy's mom explained what a therapist does. She taught him that seeing a therapist doesn't make someone weird.
- A therapist helps people who are feeling sad, or just need help feeling more like themselves
- People see therapists to talk about what's bothering them. Then the therapist tries to help them feel better.
- That night as Timmy was falling asleep he thought about what his mom told him.
- Maybe if I talked to a therapist I would feel like my normal self again...
- Before Timmy left for school the next day he talked to his mom.
- I think that's a good idea. I'll look for someone today.
- Mom, I think I want to talk to a therapist.
- Later that week, Timmy went to see a man named Daniel. Daniel is a child psychologist and Timmy thought his office was was cool and colorful.
- Hi Timmy. How are you today?
- I'm sorry to hear that. What do you think is upsetting you?
- I'm okay. I've been feeling really sad lately.
- Timmy felt a little bit better on the way home from Daniel's office.
- I am looking forward to seeing Daniel again. I can't believe I thought only crazy people go to therapy.
