  • There were many prominent women who struggled for women equality and one of them was Olympe de gouges. She protested against the declaration of rights of men and citizen as it excluded the women and criticized the Jacobin club for forcibly closing the women's clubs. Soon after she was executed.
  • The fight for vote was carried out through an international suffrage movement during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It was finally in 1946 that women in France won the right to vote
