  • I remember Nazis storming our village. They used their axes to chop through doors and break windows. Many Jewish men and boys were taken, never to be seen again. This was Kristallnacht.
  • November 9, 1938
  • Ready to give these less than humans what they deserve!

  • I grew up with her...
  • Much later, the rest of the Jews were rounded up on their Sabbath day. They were told to bring their clothes in bundles and report to the train station
  • What if we get caught? The nazis are watching anyone who says goodbye like a hawk. We can't be seen here.
  • Get in you Jews! Stop crying!
  • Although radios weren’t illegal, it became a criminal offense if you were to listen to foreign radio stations or pass along any information you heard from it.
  • I saved up and bought you a radio!
  • You are the best daughter! Thank you I've been meaning to buy one!
  • My mother, being English, listened to the British radio. She would share the news she heard with her Jewish neighbors and other people we trusted.
  • If i just listen with my ear to the speaker and drape a big heavy cloth over my head i could muffle any sounds nobody will find out.
