Objective Summary- The nurse finds Juliet dead in her bed on the morning of her wedding to Paris. Capulet and Lady Capulet come into the room to find their daughter cold, pale, and seemingly dead. Friar Laurence and Paris come to Juliet's room to get her for the wedding, when they see the state she is in. With the news Friar tells everyone to get ready for a funeral today instead of the wedding. Then Peter tries to get the musicians to play a song for him but they say it would be inappropriate with Juliet's death. This leaves everyone to grieve the loss of Juliet.
Scene Significance- Before this scene Friar Laurence creates this plan for Juliet to take a potion that will make her seem dead so that her and Romeo can be together. Romeo was supposed to get a letter explaining the plan before Juliet drinks the potion but he doesn't. When the news of Juliet's death gets to Romeo he can't handle the loss of his love so he acts irrationally and buys a poison to kill himself. This scene overall really develops the plot because it causes Romeo to act in a way that will eventually change the fate of both Romeo and Juliet.
