- My mom is getting the COVID-19 vaccine today. At first, I was confused about what vaccines are. So I asked my mom a few questions about it before my bedtime yesterday.
- Mom, what are vaccines?
- Vaccines are like an armour that protects you from getting an illness.
- It sounds like my favourite superhero who protects the enemies! That's so cool! But how do vaccines work, mom?
- Vaccines teach your body to adapt the illnesses by putting a tiny piece of germ that looks like the virus. Therefore, your body will adapt and fight off the virus whenever it comes.
- Wow, that is interesting but scary at the same time. Are vaccines safe?
- Yes, they are! The COVID-19 vaccines are new but they have been tested like all other vaccines to make sure they are safe.
- COVID-19 vaccines help eliminate the spread of the virus. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine will not only protect ourselves, but also people around us!
- Let's get vaccinated!
