- Max is being very naughty and hitting the dog.
- Max gets sent to his room with no supper Mum says "you are the wildest wild thing" Max says "I'll eat you up".
- Then Max's room turns into a forest .
- Then he sails away to an island with terrifying monsters.
- Then he becomes king by staring straight into their eyes and scaring them. Now Max is the king of the wild things. But he is not happy so he sails home.
- When he gets home he is happy because his supper is on his bed and it was still warm.
