- The fourth scene I choose to make into a cell was a cab ride. The cab ride characterizes Holden as it gives readers insight into his personality. Holden’s mind is fast paced and he thinks a lot about the world. He also is a social person striking up conversations with lots of people he meets, such as a lady on a train, the cab driver, and with other people. In the cab ride he talks to the driver about where the ducks go when the lake freezes over. In the story board. I put snow flakes and a green bird in the sky to symbolize the scene from the book. The conversation with the total stranger who is just trying to do their job goes as well as one would expect. The cab driver is a little irritated by the dumb question, but also ponders it.
- TAXI
- The fifth cell contains a depiction of a bar. In the story, Holden visits more than one bar after he visits Mr. Spencer and fights with his roommate. At one of the bars, Holden fails to get a proper drink so the soda can he is holding represents this. In the cell there is also silhouettes of people having a good time, because Holden also dances at one of the establishments with some older women he meets there. Despite Holden being underage, he does drink in the book and it further illustrates his recklessness that is established by getting into a fight with his roommate. His actions help characterize him as the irritable, short-tempered teenager he is.
