- After listening to Peter speak, Julia no longer knew these people as the "Jesus People", but at the disciples. She no longer thought they were crazy, but understood them. That day, Julia along with 3000 other people were converted and baptized. That is why Pentecost is known as the "the Birthday of the Church". On this day, with the descent of the Holy spirit, Christ's mission is completed. Pentecost is still celebrated today, however in past years it was celebrated with more solemnity than it is today. In fact, the entire period between Easter and Pentecost was known as Pentecost. The End.
