  • A few ways I can help my students, no matter their situation or needs, feel heard: 1. I will check in with each student, hold personal conferences with the students and ask them where they think they need growth and I will be as responsive as possible.2. I will make sure my classroom is a safe space where students may democratize and stand up for their beliefs without feeling ashamed. 3. I will hold meetings with parents on glows and grows, ask the parents if there are many specific areas of growth they feel that want to concentrate in.4. I will grow personal relationships with each child.
  • When I first got to elementary school, my mom felt helpless. She could not help me with my homework as she did not speak English either. I realize that my mom did everything in her power to make sure I was in good hands. I hope to become an educator who tries to understand and hear my students voices no matter the barrier they face. Like Gina, I was different. There are some ways, I as a future educator can make my students feel heard...
