- Legend has it that there was a happy family who lived near a river with two children. Maria and her husband
- Maria's heart broke when she saw her husband and the arms of another younger girl.
- That night of so much rage and took their two children with the intention of drowning them in the river.
- When Maria reacted, her children were already far down the stream and she began to regret it.
- That same night Maria decides to end her life for what she did with her children.
- Since then she has been known as La Llorona who continues searching and crying restlessly for her beloved children.
