- Did you meet....her?
- Nothing much, we did what people usually do during funeral
- Everyone makes mistakes, Liza
- Liza is a girl who deals with the issue of her father who had an extramarital affair with Sylvia, and consequently had a son, Lem.
- AT THE FUNERAL..
- One day, while cooking sinigang, Liza and her Tita Loleng were talking about the wake of her step-brother, Lem. Tita Loleng asked Liza whether she met her stepmother on the funeral.
- Would he be the same if I was the one who died?
- After being introduced to her stepmother, Liza tried hard outwardly remain calm but Syvia was not able to suppress her emotions and her tears just flowed to her eyes. She grabbed Liza's hand, she knelt and begged for forgiveness.
- Liza, your sinigang taste delicious!
- Since her Tita Loleng asked her stepmother, the funeral of Liza's stepmother flashed to her mind. She remembered the coffin of her stepbrother seared with white kalachuchi in the funeral wreaths.
- While Liza was helping Tita Loleng to prepare sinigang, she remember some memories including her mother cooking sinigang. She also remembered her father crying while Lem's casket was being lowered. At that time she thought to herself, what if she was the one who died?
- Back to the present, she let the sinigang boil for a few minutes and it will be served at the dinner. She already imagined her family sitting in the dinner table and her father complimenting her cook then giving him a smile that would never quite show.
