- "The darkness, the cold feeling of being alone. It always follows from behind, quickly stealing from many. But now, I feel it. I am laying down facing into a deep, endless space."
- As, [the character] worries about his family and friends, he gets the sense that he is dead. He admits that he has many fears but, "My [biggest] fear is death, itself. "
- He starts remembering who he was; a pilot killed with a family of four off the coast of Miami. "Because of my stressful job and lack of rest, I enjoyed gulping down some refreshing drinks before my flight. Moments flashed by; I then crashed the plane off the coast of Miami. None of us survived the crash."
- Huddled in darkness, "I remember another fear of mine: guilt. It was one fear after another. Now stuck to these fears, stranded in the unknown. I cannot escape this. The guilt that creeps in my bones will be stuck with me forever. Forever."
- "I slowly remember the time when my father passed away three years ago. He left all of us with sorrow and emptiness in our lives. My mom had the toughest time. She woke up every morning without her husband. That was a sad reality." [The character] knows that his family has to go through the same thing for him.
- "Suddenly, I hear lots of beeps and buzzes. Where am I? When my eyes are slightly open, I see little glimpses of movement like a highway full of moving cars... I squinted as the light got brighter, shining on my face. My hands felt warmth as blood rejoice, quickly circulating through my veins." He seemed to be alive the whole time. He got a second chance.
