- Hello! My name is Clara Barton.A fact about me was i had no practical experience with nursing till the outbreak of the war
- Clara was born in 1821 and died in 1912. She also died from pneumonia.she died in her 90's.
- Clara did not have any formal training in nursing. She, like many women in the nineteenth century, acquired her nursing skills by nursing a member of her own family.
- Clara,is one of the most honored women in American history. She risked her life to bring supplies and support to soldiers in the field during the Civil War. She founded the American Red Cross in 1881, at age 59, and led it for the next 23 years.
- After leaving the Red Cross, Clara remained active, giving speeches and lectures. She also wrote a book entitled The Story of My Childhood, which was published in 1907.
- In terms of nursing, Clara had a significant impact on where and how women are able to provide medical care and support during times of war. As a humanitarian, she also introduced the country to the Red Cross.
