End of the Mayans
Storyboard Tekst
- In 1502, the Maya were living happily in the Yucatan Peninsula.
- Until one day Spanish explorers, lead by Hernan Cortes, came and demanded their land.
- "What is this foreign beast he has with him?"
- Give us your land!
- The Mayan refused, which results in a bloody battle and many Mayans dead.
- Those that survived retreated, and searched for new land to call home.
- Unfortunately for those that survived, the Spanish also brought with them smallpox that the Mayans had no knowledge or cure for. Many more died.
- In 1542, the Spanish established their capital of Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula.
- The Maya Tribe destroyed.
