  • Hi kids, we are Annabel, Skye, and Dakota.
  • Okay guys, first thing you will do before preparing food in the kitchen is wash your hands! Make sure you sing the entire Happy birthday song and you wash your thumbs before finishing.

  • When you marinate on the counter, the meat will go bad and create bacteria that releases poison. The bacteria might die after cooking, but the poison will stay.

  • It may look like your food is cooked, but still use a food thermometer to make sure it is fully cooked at a safe temperature.

  • So, we are all clean and now we start by prepping the meat. We have to first separate anything that will stay uncooked from the meat to avoid any cross contamination. Also, after dealing this meat we should wash our hands before touching anything else as well.

  • If you don't wash your hands after handling meat, you might cause cross contamination with items that should not be in contact with raw meat.

  • Before eating, you need to wash your hands again incase you have some grease or raw meat on your hands while cooking that you don't want to eat or else it will make you sick.

  • You have to make sure your meat is fully cooked. In this case, steak is being made and it should be cooked to 145 degrees Fahrenheit then let cool for 3 minutes.
  • And finally, make sure your dining area is clean as well as your dishes being washed. Don't forget to clean up after eating.
