- I want mac n' cheese, like grandma makes
- Do you know why grandma makes mac n' cheese for you? And the same reason she makes fried chicken and collard greens?
- Because she likes it? I don't know!
- Well yes, she likes it, but it is really because she grew up eating it! It is called "Soul Food" and became popular in the north during the Harlem Renaissance.
- but its main origins come from the period of slavery in America when many black folks didn't have access to a variety of foods
- Why is it called soul food? Who eats it?

- A lot of soul food is high in cholesterol and sodium. If you overeat it, you can develop health conditions
