Mr.Keesing, the strict old fogey who teaches me math, has been annoyed with me for ages because I talked so much.
Saturday,20 June 1942
So he started assigning me essays to write. The first and second topic was ‘A Chatterbox’ and ‘An incorrigible chatterbox’, respectively. Mr.Keesing had assigned me these topics to teach me a lesson, but instead I gave him the essays which listed the pros and cons of talking, how it was a student’s trait, etc.
However, after I talked my way through a few more class, Me.Keesing assigned me a new essay, titled “Quack, Quack, Quack, Said Mistress Chatterbox”.

Oh Sanne! I have no idea how to write that essay. I’ve nearly exhausted my ingenuity on the topic of chatterboxes.
Don’t worry Anne, I’m good at writings poetry. I could help you write your entire essay in verse, if you would like.
That’s a great idea! Thank you so much Sanne!

Mr.Keesing thought to make a joke of me with the essay topic, but I turned it right back at him. Fortunately, he took the joke right away, read the poem to the class and even added a few comments of his own. And on the contrary Mr.Keesing’s always making jokes these days.
