From 9.8 billion years until the present, the universe became dark-energy dominated and underwent accelerating expansion. At about 9.8 billion years after the big bang, the solar system was formed.
Ah, I've actually heard about the nebular hypothesis, that somehow explains how the solar system was formed.
Well Sir, I don't know much about it but from what I've read, it states that the solar system formed from a solar nebula, which is a cloud of gas and dust within interstellar space that is made up of atoms of previously fused elements that are all gravitationally bounded together.
Wow, amazing. You're quite knowledgeable about it.
That's actually true. What do you know about it though?
So what happens in this nebular hypothesis is that, a rotating gaseous cloud cools and self-gravity contracts the gas cloud.
Then, the conservation of angular momentum pulls cloud into a disk. The disk begins to rotate and the central mass forms. After that, centrifugal force balances gravitational forms then a ring forms which then forms into a planet.
Let's go back now.
So basically, that's how the solar system was formed. Also, don't get confuse though. Nebular hypothesis states the origin of the solar system while the BigBang theory states the origin of the universe.
Yes Sir.
Thank you so much for helping me understand the origin of the universe as well as the origin of the solar system. I've learned a lot. I can finally finish my project.
Sure Sir.
Sure thing! I'm glad I was able to impart my knowledge to you. Also, can you keep my secret?
