Egeus wants his daughter Hermia to marry Demetrius or she will be sent to the nunnery. Hermia is in love with Lysander and is not complying with her dad's rules.
In the woods Oberon and Titania have come back from India to bless the wedding ofTheseus and Hippolyta. There is also a band of craftsmen who are performing their play in the woods. Oberon wants to make a boy a knight, but Titania refuses.
Oberon gets mad and wants to get revenge. He tells Puck his servant to get a flower and rub the juice on someones eyelid.
Titania wakes and falls in love with Bottom whose head is still not normal.
Theseus and Hippolyta discover the sleeping lovers in the forest and take them back to Athens to be married.
The lovers watch Bottom and his fellow craftsmen perform their play, a fumbling, hilarious version of the story of Pyramus and Thisbe.
