- I am on my way to Germany!
- Hi, I am Isabel. I was a refugee.
- I am Mahmoud. I was a refugee too.
- I used to live in Cuba but our dictator Fidel Castro was not very nice and we had barely any food so when Castro said that people could leave me and my family and my best friends' family all got on a boat to go to Miami. My mother was pregnant then and she even had her baby on the boat when we could see Miami. Sadly my best friend was killed by a shark and we had to bury him at sea. I miss him. When we where almost to Miami the US Coast Guard Ship found us and they would have caught us if my Lito had not jumped out of the boat so that the ship would stop coming after us and go save him. And now we are here. I still have my friends baseball cap.
- You think your dictator wasn't very nice? My dictator Bashar AL-Assad send bombs to blow up up neighborhoods like mine. One day my parents decided that is was time to leave. So we set off, me, my mom and dad, my little sister Hanna, and my little brother Waled. We had a long journey. First the car we were in got shot, then we had to get on a rubber dinghy to go to Greece and it popped. We were about to drown so I had to give my little sister away to save her. Eventually the Greek Coast Guard found us and brought us to Lesbos,Greece. Then when we were trying to cross through Turkey they took us to a refugee detention center. My father got beaten there. Then the UN observers came and I saw my chance to get out of there so I just walked out. From there me and my family walked to Germany where we were welcomed with food, new clothes, and other necessities.
