- Morning manager, I would like to have a word with you.
- Well, then....
- In scene: Tracey speaks to the manager regarding Amanda's matter. Tracey explains to the manager all that Amanda told her and she also said she is aware of that Amanda failed to compile the policies. However Amanda has never been given any warnings.
- Good morning Amanda, I'm calling to inform you that you will be having a disciplinary hearing.
- Tracey allows the manager to give his explanation. The manager gave Amanda a three weeks suspension because of continuous late coming. Tracey argues that the punishment is a bit extreme. Tracey and the manager agrees to have a disciplinary hearing for Amanda
- Hi Tracey, can you please be my representative for my hearing?
- In this scene: Tracey compares all the details she heard from the manager and Amanda in order to understand if what Amanda has violated the workplace policies.One of the qualities of a shop steward to to be fair minded.

- In this scene: Amanda calls Tracey to ask her to be her representative for the disciplinary hearing. Tracey agrees and tells Amanda to be on time.Shop steward has a right to represent their employees during disciplinary procedures and a right to demand all relevant information that would help.
- In this scene: Tracey has been in a shop steward for a two months and she has never represented someone for a disciplinary hearing before. she had to ask for a day off to work, then she went to her union for assistance.Shop steward has a right to be given time to perform their duties at any functions agreed by their parties.
