This stage describes how children become more capable at performing tasks and making decisions outside of home and being productive while earning validation from peers. • This stage is the 4th stage in Erickson psychosocial development. This stage is when the child learns to become productive outside of home and to accept evaluation, agreement, support and praise from their efforts but their peers and students or they develop low-self esteem or become discouraged which causes them to feel inferior to others.
