- Gunpowder is an explosive powdery mixture. It is the first propellant explosive, and is used in gun, bombs, and fireworks.
- A fuel, Charcoal, and an oxidizer, saltpeter, are in the form of a black powder, as well as sulfur, this creates a stable reaction. Carbon dioxide and energy are formed from the charcoal and oxygen. Nitrogen and the carbon dioxide expand creating a propelling action and allowing the gunpowder to fire.
- Gunpowder has forever changed warfare. It is the basis of guns and bombs, without it we would still be using swords. Armies would not be as strong as they are if they didn’t have weapons that use gunpowder. Without it, some wars would’ve ended very differently and history could’ve been changed forever.
