  • Jimmie Lee Jackson had been killed at a night march. 50 mile march to protest his death ended in vicious beating, the Bloody Sunday
  • Thousands marched from Brown Chapel to the city capitol, the group delegation demanded an end to voting rights restrictions
  • It might be the most effective in any civil rights legislation for equality for black people in America. Next year, 9k black people had registered.

  • James Reeb volunteered all the way from Bostom as clergy for MLK, he was clubbed to death as he left a restaurant
  • Jimmie Lee Jackson had been shot by police, because he tried to protect his mother from brutal beatings
